March 3, 2019: The Search and Selection Committee established to facilitate the selection and appointment of Jimma University’s President and Vice President for Administration and Student Affairs positions has held its first meeting today (March 3, 2019).
Screening applicants’ documents collected for the two vacant positions (advertised through The Ethiopian Herald, Vol-LXXV NO.124 on 1/2/2019) was one of the activities that the committee has carried out. Though the committee has received 11 (eleven) applications for the President’s position, it accepted only 10 (ten) applicants as eligible candidates to compete for the position. It declined to accept one application which was submitted via email after the deadline. Besides, the committee has received four applications for the Vice President for Administration and Student Affair’s position and deemed all applicants eligible candidates.
