Program Advisory Board for Program Accreditation

Jimma University has established a Program Advisory Board (PAB) for accreditation purposes. Over the past two years, Jimma University has closely collaborated with the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET) and the National Architecture Accrediting Board (NAAB) to obtain accreditation for its engineering-related programs.

The ABET accreditation and NAAB certification process requires the establishment of a Program Advisory Board as a mandatory component of accreditation efforts. Jimma University has therefore formed a PAB consisting of professionals and experts from industries and institutions in the field of engineering.

The PAB will act as a bridge between Jimma University and industries by providing engineering, computing, and architecture programs with valuable insights into industry trends, technological advancements, and skill requirements, among other things.

During the launch ceremony of the PAB, representatives from member institutions discussed the new Program Educational Objectives (PEOs) and Student Outcomes (SOs) developed by the engineering, computing, and architecture programs.

Dr. Jemal Abafita, the President of Jimma University, thanked all the members for their willingness and commitment to participate in the PAB during the ceremony. He also expressed his high expectations for the members’ contributions to the accreditation process.

The engineering, computing, and architecture programs will continue to regularly engage with the PABs to obtain the necessary input required to support the graduates of Jimma University in engineering, computing, and architecture.
