Dr. Gebisa Ejeta, esteemed Professor of Plant Breeding & Genetics and International Agriculture, has been honored by President Joe Biden with the National Medal of Science on Tuesday (Oct. 24).
He presently holds positions as executive director of the Purdue Center for Global Food Security and Purdue University Presidential Fellow for Food Security and Sustainable Global Development. This prestigious award is the United States’ foremost recognition for scientific achievement.
Dr. Gebisa, an alumnus of Jimma School of Agriculture, was awarded honorary doctorate by Jimma University.
