Jimma University, in collaboration with the US Embassy, launched the second round English Access Micro Scholarship program today. This scholarship program is invaluable for high school students in improving their English language skills. It also opens up students’ imagination to new world outlooks and expands their imagination by providing them with varieties of experiences.
Ms. Diane Millar, who works as a Regional English Language Officer for East Africa, remarked how very lucky students are who have got this opportunity for their future career in becoming global citizens.
The program was facilitated by the Access coordinating office of Jimma University. It was attended by a variety of guests from the US Embassy, high school directors, parents, and the newly recruited students from different high schools in Jimma town and woredas. The program is planned to be given for two years and is expected to stay till 2024.
