May 24, 2019: College of Education and Behavioral Science of Jimma University and Jimma College of Teacher’s Education have jointly organized a two days’ workshop dedicated to the 50th year Golden Jubilee celebration of establishment of Jimma College of Teacher’s Education. At the historic ev…ent were, officials and staff from Jimma University, officials from Oromia Education Bureau, Jimma Town and Zone, JCTE alumni, staff and students.
In his opening remarks, Jimma University’s president Dr. Jemal Abafita, after congratulating the staff, students and alumni of the college, has called for a better synergy between the University and Jimma College of Teacher’s Education to bring a substantial synchronized impact on the quality of education in Jimma zone.
Dr. Tsige Ketema, the vice president for Research and Community Service at JU and one of the alumni of the JCTE, introduced the purpose of the workshop and shared to the participants the indelible marks the college has left in her.
Apart from celebrating the journey of the college, the event involves presentations and discussions on scientific papers focusing the grand theme: “Teacher Education, Early Childhood and Primary Education”. The event that marks the 3rd annual educational research conference of CEBS at JU and the 50th year Golden Jubilee of JCTE continues May 25, 2019.
