Jimma and Salale University signed Software development agreement on 18th May 2018. The agreement covers multiple software development projects to ease traditional manual processing of the institution that critically result in serious delays in decision making at different levels of the university which ultimately reduce overall performance of the university.
The agreement aims at developing Student Record management System (SRS), One Card System (SIS), User administration system (UAS) and Lightweight directory Access Protocol (LDAP).
The actual execution of the project will enable to further enhance the Simplicity of student’s admission, students transfer, online student placement and grouping, student withdrawal and dropping, module and course management, reporting and certification, online grading, instructor evaluation, student registration, online result summation and grading academic status determination.
It is also to be recalled that JU also signed MoU with Oromia Science and Technology Development Agency to join hands to execute training and software development project with the objective of forming long term cooperation in providing capacity building training for the Regional office by way of enabling it to engage in software development for different sectors across the Region.
The MoU signed with Salale University is expected to improve the quality of services delivered at various levels and specifically in streamlining and simplifying the services delivered to students supported by an online anywhere accessible system.
The agreement was signed between Prof. Fikre Lemessa, President of JU and his counterpart from Salale University, Dr. Genanaw Gofe. On the occasion of signing the agreement the representatives of the two institutions pledged to work together in realizing the aspired for objectives of the agreement within the specified period.
