Jimma University School of Nursing and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) FCHS have signed MOU on health education

An online Memorandum of Understating has been signed between the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Fatima College of Health Sciences (FCHS) and Jimma University School of Nursing, in order to offer a higher level of nursing education.

The significant high level standard curriculum teaching-learning program by professional teachers will begin in the Ethiopian New Year 2014 E.C. The training is not only given by harmonized western standard level curriculum, but also FCHS is equipping JU’s nursing school with the necessary modern medical lab materials and teaching aids.
On the occasion, Dr. Jemal Abafita, president of Jimma University said that the implementation of the harmonized curriculum will enable us to attract international students and allow us to compete in the international market.
Moreover, it helps the university avail adequate educational resources to enhance the quality of education through strengthend capacity builing strategies such as staff training, establishment of modern and well equiped labs including state-of-the art skill labs, supply of teaching materials, and many more inputs.
Dr. Elias Ali, Vice President for the Institute of Health said, we should use the opportunity to launch a quality program to raise the standard of our health education and elevate the image of our university.
The facilitator committee formed months ago has been working to begin the teaching learning activity and preparing spaces for lab equipment and teaching aid materials.
