Jimma University Medical Center Conducts Free Eye-Care Services and Cataract Surgery in collaboration with Albassar International Foundation

Albassar International Foundation, a nongovernmental organization from Saudi Arabia, has partnered with Jimma University to provide free five-day eye examinations and cataract surgery to the public. The initiative aims to promote eye health and raise awareness about the importance of regular eye check-ups.
During the campaign, Albassar International Foundation donated eyeglasses, medication, and conducted cataract surgeries for around 400 individuals. In addition to these donations and surgical services, ten thousand community members received free checkups and eye care services.
Dr. Jaffer Kedir, head of the ophthalmology unit, explained that the initiative aims to improve the quality of life for visually impaired individuals and support the overall well-being of the community.
Fokridin Doken, a representative of Albassar International Foundation, announced that the organization is offering free eye care services in different parts of the country, and Jimma University is one of their destinations.
Jimma University expresses gratitude for the generous support of Albassar International Foundation and the team that provided professional support to the surrounding community during the campaign.
