Jimma University is ranked number 1 in the world for Citation (Field Weighted Citation Index, FWCI) along with other renowned institutions by the Time Higher Education (THE), which is a globally recognized university ranking institution, in its newly released 2023 World University Rankings.
Likewise, the THE ranked Jimma University as number 1 in Ethiopia and 11th in Africa and top 600 (i.e. 539th to be specific) among 1799 universities across 104 countries.
Jimma University has just made history by establishing itself as one of the top universities in all of Ethiopia and the world for citation among these participating universities. The leadership of Jimma University is dedicated to moving the institution forward in accordance with its ten-year strategic plan designed to make Jimma University one of the best in the region and a top destination for students from Ethiopia and all over the world.
