Jimma University held a colorful, memorable and joyous graduation ceremony at Jimma University Hachalu Hundessa Hall on July 2, 2024. Of the 1747 graduates who attended their studies in the regular, weekend, summer and extension programs, 1471 earned their first degrees, 254 Masters, and 22 PhDs.
The graduation ceremony was graced by esteemed guests of honor including Woizero Zenebework G/Tsadik, Vice president of the Ethiopian Airlines, Dr Jemal Abafita, Jimma University President, among other higher officials.
The ceremony commenced with an opening speech addressed by Dr Jemal Abafita, JU President, who extended his warmest congratulations to all the graduates and their families. Dr Jemal also emphasized that the graduates are expected to serve their country honestly in their respective fields of education.
During the event, high-achieving students were acknowledged and awarded for their exceptional academic performances and contributions to the university community.
Jimma University congratulates all the graduates on their success and wishes them all the best as they embark on a new journey.
