Jimma University Experts conduct Evidence Implementation Training Program in Adama, Ethiopia

Evidence Implementation training program (EITP), a training devised by Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI), Adelaide University, South Australia was conducted by five experts from Ethiopian Evidence Based Healthcare and Development Centre of Jimma University for experts from Armauer Hansen Research Institute (AHRI), Ethiopian Public Health Institute (EPHI), Amhara Institute of Public Health Research, Faculty members from Samara, Haramaya, Gonder, and Dire Dawa University and PhD students of Evidence Based Health Care stream from Jimma University. A total of 27 experts participated in the training. Trainers from Jimma University were Dr. Yibeltal Siraneh, Sena Balina, Yisalemush Asefa, Hiwot Berhanu and led by Prof. Morankar Sudhakar. Training was conducted from 13 – 17 Feb 2023 in Dembel View International Hotel in Adama. Training was well coordinated by Dr. Akililu Alemu, Minyahil Tadesse, Eskedar Amenashewa from AHRI and Gelila Abraham of Jimma University and supported by Alexa, Lucy and Rachel from JBI, Australia.

Prof. Afework Kassu Gizaw, Director General of AHRI inaugurated the program. In his 20 minutes presentation on current research agenda of Ethiopia, he emphasized the importance of the knowledge translation and its need in evidence-based policy making. Dr. Afework thanked and appreciated the efforts of the Jimma University training team. Training was concluded in the evening of 17 Feb 2023.
