Jimma University and Assosa University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on various research and development activities.
This partnership will progressively expand to involve other universities in Ethiopia, South Sudan, and Sudan, and work towards several activities related to the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD), including socioeconomic development, environmental protection, and disease control.The MOU was signed by Jimma University’s president, Dr. Jemal Abafita, and Asossa University’s president, Dr. Kemal Abdurahim.
The agreement outlines a strategic partnership that will foster collaborative research, training and development, student and staff exchange, innovation and technology development, validation, and transfer.
The MOU was signed during a special ceremony at Assosa University, which was attended by officials and researchers from both universities.
