The IC-GFBCE (2023) was organized by the Center for Excellence at Jimma University Institute of Technology on May 11 and 12.
In his opening speech, Dr. Jemal Abafita, Jimma University President, expressed gratitude to the conference contributors and underlined Jimma University’s commitment to promoting circular economy in alignment with Ethiopia’s climate resilient green economy development strategy.
Other keynote speakers at the conference included Prof. Netsanet Workneh, Jimma University Research and Community Service Vice President; Dr. Tadesse Habtamu, Academic Affairs Vice President; and Ing. Efrem Wakjira, Jimma Institute of Technology Scientific Director. They shared their remarks on the occasion.
The conference aimed to promote networking and the exchange of research findings among scholars, scientists, and researchers from Germany, Belgium, Italy, Oman, India, and Ethiopian universities.
Its focus was on the role of bio-based fuels in achieving circular economy sustainability through innovation in Engineering and Technology.
Discussions covered recent innovations, trends, challenges, and solutions related to green and clean biofuels and their sustainability.
Topics included energy preparedness, risk management in the fuel industry, and progress reporting at national and global levels.
