May 28, 2019: Delegates from the Republic of korea visits JU and discusses with Jimma University President, Dr. Jemal Abafita and the management on the status and operations of KOFIH project. Korea Foundation for International Healthcare (KOFIH) is one of the impactful projects targeted at promoting maternal and child healthcare in Jimma Zone.
The team of visitors included Ms. Lee, Haehee (Deputy Director of Ministry of Health and Welfare), Ms. Kim, Hyunkong, (KOFIH General Director), Ms Shi, Ta Youg (KOFIH Assistant Manager) Mr, Kang, Don (country director), Mr. Kim, Young Do (the deputy director). At the discussion, the management and the visiting team shared views on how to further strengthen the ties pertaining to the project. Following the discussion, the team also visited midwifery skills lab and Center for Biomedical Engineering renovated with the help of KOFIH project, and also paid a passing visit to the training session being held on “Integrated Refresher Training for Health Extension Workers from selected districts of Jimma Zone” organized by KOFIH-JU-JZHO collaborative MNCH project. The team will have a field visit to health centers tomorrow to oversee the performances so far.
