Delegates from US Embassy in Addis Ababa visited Jimma University

On May 19th, delegates from the US Embassy in Addis Ababa led by Ruth Anne Stevens-Klitz (Counselor of Public Affairs) visited Jimma University to present opportunities for academic staff to study in the United States. The presentation focused on the prestigious Fulbright and Humphrey scholarship programs, which offer opportunities for professionals to pursue advanced degrees, conduct research, and engage in professional development in the United States.
The presentation was held at the main campus of Jimma University, and was attended by Deans, Directors and academic staff from a variety of departments and disciplines.
The delegates from the US Embassy provided information on the application process, eligibility requirements, and the benefits of participating in these scholarship programs.
The Fulbright and Humphrey scholarships are highly competitive and provide recipients with a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in American culture, build professional networks, and gain valuable skills and knowledge. The programs are open to individuals from a wide range of fields, including science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), social sciences, humanities, education and the arts.
