Jimma University proudly hosted the 11th Water, Hydro-Diplomacy, and Communication Forum. Dr. Jemal Abafita, President of Jimma University, officially opened the event, welcoming distinguished guests including Dr. Habtamu Itafa, Minister of Water and Energy; Dr. Sultan Welle, State Minister for Energy Development; and Mr. Motuma Meqasa, Adviser to the Minister of Water and Energy. The forum, held on the eve of the Nile Basin Commission’s establishment, emphasized collaboration and knowledge sharing on water resource management and hydro-diplomacy. Four scholarly papers were presented, followed by a panel discussion. The forum’s name was officially updated to the “Water, Hydro-Diplomacy, and Communication Conference”.
