🔵 The Faculty of Medical Sciences is founded in 1983 with the establishment of the Jimma Institute of Health Sciences, our faculty has grown into one of Ethiopia’s oldest and most distinguished medical schools. For over four decades, we have been at the forefront of medical education, clinical service, and research, shaping generations of healthcare leaders.

🔵 The Faculty of Medical Sciences traces its roots back to 1983 G.C., with the establishment of the Jimma Institute of Health Sciences (JIHS). Two years later, in 1985 G.C., the School of Medicine was formally founded, marking the beginning of structured medical education in Jimma. Since then, the faculty has grown into one of the nation’s oldest and most respected medical schools, playing a pivotal role in advancing healthcare education, clinical services, and research in Ethiopia.
