Background
The Continuing and Distance Education (CDE) Coordinating Office of the college began its services in 2009 as CDE coordinating office of the College of Social Sciences and Law. The office then renamed as CDE Coordinating office of College of Social Sciences and Humanities in August 2014 following the restructuring of the college. However, the office has been coordinating the teaching-learning processes of the summer-in-service, distance, weekend, and evening programs run by different departments in the college since its inception. The office aims to enhance access to education with a motto: “Time and location shall not be barriers to interested learners!”
Vision
The office aspires to become the most efficient coordinating office in the university in terms of customer service, resource utilization and income generation.
Mission
The office is dedicated to coordinate access to quality education provided by departments in the college. It also ensures evolving modalities are in place to reach more student population and produce competent graduates that would meet the demands of public services.
CDE Facilities
The Coordinating Office works harmoniously with the college and CDE Director Office in access to facilities such as classrooms, duplicating machines, transportation etc. Currently, the office coordinates undergraduate and postgraduate programs in different fields of study. i.e,

Fees
Unless a student is sponsored by government or other organizations, s/he is required to cover all tuition fees and food and housing payments:
- The tuition fee for evening program students is 200 Birr/credit hour
- The tuition fee for weekend program students is 200 Birr/credit hour
- The tuition fee for summer in-service program students is 200 Birr/credit hour
- The tuition fee for distance program students is 170 Birr/credit hour
- The tuition fee for MA program students is 1000 birr/credit hour
