Jimma University in collaboration with MSM is implementing a NICHE/ETH-259 project aimed at opening multi-disciplinary Executive MBA in Agribusiness since September 2016. The project’s implementation is carried out in collaboration with Jimma University College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine being led by Business and Economics College. Accordingly, a cross disciplinary Executive MBA in Agribusiness was opened in 2017/18 after finalizing curriculum.

To become a model post graduate program in Ethiopia and hub graduate studies in Africa with a multi-disciplinary andinternationally accreditedEMBA in Agribusiness.
Mission
- The Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) in Agribusiness Program prepares individuals to provide a holistic learning experience that develops exceptional business executives/leaders to meet challenges of a complex and dynamic local, national, and global Agribusiness environment. Thus, the program strives:
- To develop professional competencies, and skills of learners to become sensitive to the real problems and challenges of Agribusiness Industry.To produce highly qualified agribusiness professionals with requisite knowledge, skills, and right attitude necessary to become competitive in a global environment and responsive to labour market and gender needs.
- To provide an exceptional practical experience through innovative, need based, flexible, and case based approaches.
- To prepare students to be proactive, goal oriented, optimistic, and competent Agribusiness entrepreneurs with business mind-set.

The EMBA in Agri-business program at Jimma University is designed to fit to this global trend and meet the ever-increasing demand for highly skilled individuals who can assume managerial positions in various levels of organization. Furthermore, EMBA in Agri-business program produces:
- Professionals who are capable of planning, organizing, directing and controlling activities of private, public, non-government and government organizations.
- Professionals who are responsive and effective in working with and through others as well as capable of making and implementing decisions.
- Professionals who are able to face the challenges of today’s and tomorrows’ highly complex and competitive environment.
- Experts who identify, extract local resources and to process to create local market, employment and to develop local entrepreneurship to boost the local and national economy.
- Experts who are gender sensitive and socially accountable experts, who can identify agricultural business challenges and opportunities, address consumers’ dynamism; and forward remedies to real world business.

Admission Requirements
In selecting the potential candidates to join EMBA in Agri-Business program the following criteria’s must be fulfilled:
- The candidates must successfully complete the under graduate degree.
- Candidates should have two years of relevant experience after graduation
- The candidates must appear for entrance exam and the best performers will be selected.
Graduation Requirement
Students to qualify for graduation must take a minimum of credit hours set by the University and must accumulate CGPA of 3.00 with one “C” only. Furthermore, students are expected to undertake EMBA in Agri-Business research project.
Duration
The duration of the program is two and half (2.5) years which has 5 semesters; with maximum extension of 1 semester.
