Undergraduate Program
- This program was started in 2006, where the first batches have graduated in 2008.
- So far, four batches (more than 420 students) had graduated with the BSc degree program, and two batches (21 students) with MSc degree in biostatistics.
- Currently, a total of 285 students (undergraduate program), where 65, 135 and 80 students at the first, second and third years, respectively, and 20 students (postgraduate program), where 10 students in each of the two batches, are attending at both programs.
Program objective:
- To train middle level statisticians who can serve in collecting, processing and analyzing statistical data;
- To train middle level statisticians who can assist in statistical research undertakings and provision of statistical services.
- To produce middle level statisticians who can manage and supervise the
- activities of statistical units or offices at both government and nongovernmental organizations;
- To produce potential candidates for graduate studies so as to meet the demand for high level statisticians who can teach and conduct research at Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), and other research and training centers.
Entry requirements:
- An applicant must have successfully completed the science preparatory in a recognized secondary school with good performance in mathematics at the national examination, or
- The applicant must have graduated from a recognized university/college with a diploma in Statistics or related fields.
Graduate profile:
- A B.Sc. graduate in Statistics is expected to:
- Demonstrate competence in data collection, management, summary and analysis required at many production and development sectors day to day activities,
- Supervise and/or manage activities of lower level statistical units or offices,
- Assist in statistical research and the provision of statistical services in research establishments, business and government and non-government institutions,
- Plan and conduct sample surveys and experimental designs,
- Use statistical software to carry out necessary computation for statistical analysis of data,
- Write clear statistical reports and communicate the results of statistical analyses in non-technical language,
- Demonstrate professional ethics in his/her career,
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the country in his/her area with sense of responsibility, and
- Demonstrate social responsibility and capacity to manage teamwork.

Masters Program
Masters in Biostatistics
The postgraduate program in biostatistics was launched in 2009 as part of the North – South – South (NSS) project, one of the VLIR component projects.
Since the beginning of the program, courses are used to be offered jointly both by local guest lecturers and collaborators from Universities in Belgium.
Currently, there are two batches (a total of 22 postgraduate students) attending the postgraduate program in biostatistics.
The first batches of postgraduate students have already graduated at the beginning of this academic year, particularly on October 8, 2011.
