3. Research interests

Identification and implementation of DNA diagnostic tools for efficient and effective crop improvement mainly in sorghum, pigeon pea, maize, rice, and wheat. I am also interested in plant molecular genetics/functional genomics, genome editing, and the identification of specific genes that are responsible for plant development, evolution, and adaptation to different biotic and abiotic stresses such as drought and soil acidity.
