The department owns laboratories that are better equipped with most appropriate equipment (through the PHMIL project) (including Gas Chromatography, Penetro-meter, UV- visible spectrophotometer, Texture analyzer, water activity meter etc.) that will be used for teaching and research. The department has prototype machines for processing, sorting, roasting, grinding, and oil extraction. In addition to this, the department with assistance of the PHMIL project has acquired 8 desktop computers to be used by the postgraduate students.
