Objectives
The specific objectives of postgraduate training in plant breeding are to:
- Produce capable graduates with strong theoretical and practical knowledge of plant breeding for undertaking teaching, research, extension and decision making.
- Develop improved crop varieties that could fit the different agro ecological regions of the country.
- Promote collection, conservation, characterization, evaluation, and utilization of plant genetic resources for food and agriculture
- Enhance the development of seed industry/system
Entry requirements
Applicant should posses BSc degree in fields such as Plant Sciences, Crop Sciences, Horticulture, Forestry, Biology, NRM, and Other related fields with CGPA of 2.00 and above are encouraged to apply. Applicants must pass written entrance examination and must meet other admission requirements of School of Graduate Studies (SGS). Female applicants are favored.
