Looking back on the long journey we have been through for about six decades and the experience we developed therein, we are anticipating achieving more success in taking the premier position nationally and in Africa and being recognized and known internationally. This will be realized through institutional transformation, capacity building, continued dedication, and hard work. Hence, intended major undertakings by our college to this end include but are not limited to:

  • More networking and cooperation with domestic and international institutes
  • Expanding need-based postgraduate programs
  • Enhancing research, innovation, and community service in various agriculture and veterinary medicine disciplines
  • Furnishing laboratories and greenhouse with state of the art facilities  
  • Launching a modern dairy unit with an ultra-modern milk-producing facility
  • Strengthening provision of veterinary health services through Veterinary Teaching Hospital and Open-air Veterinary Clinic
  • Creating a society in a state of Gender-balance
  • Advancing industry-oriented MSc in Horticulture training to Ph.D. level
  • Strengthening research and extension in post-harvest management and value addition
  • Promoting research in Agribusiness and Value chain management

JUCAVM is developing its capacity (both human and facility) to fulfill its mandates of teaching, research, and community service with an estimated number of more than 180 Academic and about 240 Administrative staff.
