Jimma University, Jimma Institute of Technology is currently implementing a project financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and entitled “ETH Soil” that is running in collaboration with German Biomass Research Center (DBFZ). To achieve the project target and ensure sustainability of the implementation, the project trains 12 candidates with MSc in Sustainable energy engineering with a stream in Advanced Biogas and Biomass Technology specialization towards capacity building. The course delivery involves specialists from German Biomass Research Center-DBFZ apart from the expertise in JIT/JU. Advanced & state of the art research facilities and large scale Biogas plants and research digester with advanced instrumentation is in the process of establishment.
Accordingly, Jimma Institute of Technology calls for interested and potential candidate to apply for the study program for 2024/2025 academic year.
The Scholarships Include:
- Tuition fees for the entire program, research/thesis fund and publication fee will be covered also
- A stipend/living cost of 10,000 ETB per month for only 18 Months
Eligibility criteria
- One page motivation/application/cover letter containing full contact address/details- for application
- BSc degree certificate in Mechanical Engineering (or related fields), Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Agricultural Engineering and Electrical Engineering (Power stream) – for application
*Note: – All programs must have zero bridging course requirements as prerequisite)
- A candidate must be sure/able to provide Official Transcript – for final registration
- A certificate for passing National Graduate Admission Test (NGAT) – for application
- At least two strong letters of recommendation from instructors or employers – for application
- For work experience must provide evidence from employers – for application
- Score competitive result on the entrance exam specifically set for this program – after screening
- Females are highly encouraged to apply
