Jimma University graduates of 2017 from Biomedical Engineering, and Computer and Electrical Engineering received awards for Science and Technology projects. On the ceremony of 8th National Science, Technology and Innovation award held on November 18th 2017 at United Nations Economic Commission for Africa Auditorium, four (4) final year project works of Biomedical Engineering and One (1) internship project of Electrical & Computer Engineering graduates of 2017 received one gold, three Silver and one bronze medals. The competition for the award was made among projects gathered from all universities in the country.
These works took one of the four gold medals, three of the six silver medals and one of the nine bronze medals prepared for the event. Jimma University manages to collect five (5) of the total nineteen (19) medals awarded.
Representatives of the winning projects received the medals from the hands of FDRE Prime Minister Hailemariam Dessalegn.
The projects awarded at the event are the following:
