Jimma University’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Employability Development (CEED), in collaboration with Hybrid Designs PLC, proudly hosted the highly anticipated “ወደ ስራ” (Wede Sira) job fair at the Kora Tushune Convention Centre.
The event attracted over 1,500 graduating students, who had the unique opportunity to engage with four digital and gig economy platforms aimed at bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world employment.
This job fair represents a significant milestone in the strategic partnership between Jimma University and Hybrid Designs, the lead implementer of the EDGE Program—a Mastercard Foundation initiative dedicated to creating over 300,000 dignified employment opportunities for Ethiopian youth through the burgeoning digital and gig economy.The theme of the event, “Unlock Your Future: Careers in the Gig & Digital Economy,” resonated strongly with attendees, emphasizing the increasing importance of digital skills, freelancing, and platform-based work in today’s competitive job market.
This event not only showcased the commitment of Jimma University and its partners to empower youth through innovative employment solutions but also highlighted the vital role of digital skills in shaping the future workforce of Ethiopia.
