Jimma University proudly welcomed the Tazma Medical and Surgical Specialized Center, a renowned institution based in Addis Ababa, known for its excellence in cardiac surgery. Tazma Medical and Surgical specialized Center has come to Jimma to provide free cardiac surgeries for patients who cannot afford this life-saving procedure.
This event marks a significant milestone as it represents the first cardiac surgeries ever performed at Jimma University Hospital, making it a groundbreaking occasion for the institution.
In his address, Jimma University President Dr. Jemal Abafita praised this voluntary initiative, highlighting the extraordinary dedication and passion of the young professionals from Tazma. He emphasized the profound impact this selfless act will have on the lives of patients and the advancement of medical care in the region.
Jimma University Health Institute Vice President Professor Ahmed Zeynudin expressed sincere gratitude to the entire Tazma team for their volunteer efforts, acknowledging their commitment to providing specialized care to those in need.
He also extended appreciation to the Jimma University Hospital teams and individual staff members who have diligently supported this mission, working collaboratively to ensure its success.
The cardiac surgery campaign, a collaborative effort between Jimma University and Tazma Medical and Surgical Center, will continue to provide these crucial services for 10 patients until April 14, 2025, offering hope and healing to numerous individuals in the Southwest region.
