Professor Delenasaw Yewhalaw Elected to the African Academy of Sciences Fellowship

Jimma University is proud to announce that Professor Delenasaw Yewhalaw from the Faculty of Public Health has been elected as a Fellow of The African Academy of Sciences (AAS). He is one of 70 distinguished scholars elected this year in recognition of their outstanding contributions to science and scholarship in Africa.
Professor Delenasaw serves as a professor of Public Health Entomology at the School of Medical Laboratory Sciences within the College of Health Sciences at Jimma University. He is also the Founding Director of the Tropical and Infectious Diseases Research Center (TIDRC). His extensive work encompasses teaching, research, and community service, focusing particularly on the epidemiology, surveillance, and control of malaria and other vector-borne diseases. His efforts are crucial in informing health policy and practice in the region.
The AAS Fellowship is awarded through a rigorous merit-based process that honors exceptional achievements and lasting contributions to science.
