MoU Signed Between Jimma University and Oromia Regional Health Bureau to Improve Primary Care via Remote Consultation

Jimma University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Oromia Regional Health Bureau to launch the “Remote Consultation at Primary Health Care” initiative, aimed at enhancing health care delivery in the region.
This project, funded by a global health partner through the Global Health Workforce Program, focuses on improving the capacity of health care workers and expanding access to quality services, particularly in underserved areas. By integrating remote consultation technologies, the initiative will enable timely health services without the need for extensive travel.
The project includes comprehensive training for healthcare providers, equipping them to deliver effective telemedicine. This collaboration represents a significant step towards improving health outcomes in Oromia and could serve as a model for similar initiatives in Ethiopia and beyond.
