Delegation Completes Successful Study Visit to Uganda under METODIC Project
A delegation from Jimma University successfully completed a study visit to Uganda from December 1–6 as part of the METODIC Project. The visit aimed to strengthen academic collaboration, promote laboratory modernization, and facilitate knowledge exchange among partner institutions in the area of textile engineering and circular economy. The experience is expected to significantly contribute to improving teaching, research, and community engagement activities at our institution.
During the visit, participants engaged in a range of academic and institutional activities, including workshops, laboratory visits, and professional discussions. These engagements focused on innovative teaching methodologies, strategies for integrating research into teaching, and opportunities for strengthening university–industry linkages in textile engineering. The delegation also explored modern laboratory practices and shared experiences on improving the management and utilization of laboratory facilities.
The study visit provided valuable opportunities to benchmark academic and laboratory practices and exchange knowledge on contemporary teaching and learning approaches in textile engineering. It also helped strengthen collaboration between partner institutions and identify potential areas for joint research and academic partnerships.
As a result of the visit, staff members enhanced their understanding of best practices in teaching and laboratory management and improved their capacity in modern pedagogical and technical approaches. The visit also strengthened institutional partnerships and identified opportunities for collaborative research and academic initiatives. These outcomes are expected to support ongoing efforts to enhance teaching quality, research productivity, and community-oriented engagement.
