The pediatric cardiac surgery campaign at Jimma University Medical Center (JUMC) has successfully concluded, providing life-saving surgical interventions for 13 children suffering from congenital heart disease (CHD).
This initiative was carried out in close partnership with Ethio-Istanbul Hospital and the Heart to Heart Foundation.A significant milestone was reached when one of the surgeries was performed entirely by the JUMC medical team, marking a crucial advancement in local cardiac surgical independence in Ethiopia.
All patients have made full recoveries and have been discharged in good health.
The administration of Jimma University expresses its sincere gratitude to the owner and staff of Ethio-Istanbul Hospital, the founder of the Heart to Heart Foundation, and the outstanding clinical and administrative teams at JUMC for their collective generosity, expertise, and commitment to saving young lives.
