Jimma University Hosts Remote Consultation in Health Care (REaCH) Project Partnership Meeting.

Jimma University recently hosted the official kickoff meeting for the Remote Consultation in Health Care (REaCH) Upscaling Project, bringing together key project partners and stakeholders.
Representatives from the University of Warwick (UK), University of Ibadan (Nigeria), and major Ethiopian health institutions including the Ministry of Health (MoH), Oromia Health Bureau (OHB), Ethiopian Medical Association (EMA), and Jimma Zone Health Bureau participated in the event.
The REaCH project is designed to enhance the capacity of primary healthcare professionals in Ethiopia to deliver remote consultations, supporting the country’s efforts to achieve Universal Health Coverage.
Dr. Jemal Abafita, President of Jimma University, officially opened the meeting. In his address, he underscored the vital role of collaboration and highlighted Jimma University’s leadership and responsibility as the lead institution in the project.
The President emphasized the transformative potential of REaCH in strengthening primary healthcare through remote consultation services and reaffirmed the university’s full commitment to the project’s success.
In his closing remarks, Dr. Tadesse Habatamu Vice President for Academic Affairs at Jimma University, extended his gratitude to the core JU project team members. He reiterated Jimma University’s continued dedication to the success of the REaCH project.
