Dr. Jemal Abafita, President of Jimma University, and Mr. Okechukwu Ogbonnaya, Country Director of the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), signed a bilateral agreement yesterday at Jimma University.
The agreement signed by the two institutions aims to combat climate change by protecting biodiversity and forests, and by enhancing Ethiopia’s green legacy through study and research.
Mr. Okechukwu Ogbonnaya, Country Director of the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), expressed his institution’s commitment to solving problems related to forests and biodiversity and praised Jimma University for its interest.
Professor Mulubeit Abebe, Vice President for Research and Collaboration at Jimma University, stated that the collaboration will help combat climate change, a global concern, by advancing research that contributes to forest and biodiversity protection. He also noted that Jimma University is undertaking extensive related activities.
