EPSNA Hosts Successful 2025 Virtual Summer School (VSS).

The Ethiopian Physics Society in North America (EPSNA), in collaboration with eight Ethiopian universities, successfully conducted the EPSNA 2025 Virtual Summer School (VSS). Jimma University was a key host center, coordinating academic and logistical activities for participants
The success of the program at Jimma University was strengthened by strong institutional leadership. The President and Academic Vice President of Jimma University played crucial roles in program coordination and resource mobilization, ensuring that necessary facilities and administrative support were in place. Their involvement underscored the university’s commitment to advancing STEM education and fostering international academic partnerships.
A total of 32 participants, along with the center coordinator, attended the program at Jimma University. The program featured lectures, tutorials, and interactive discussions led by distinguished scholars from Ethiopia and the USA. Faculty from Jimma University contributed talks on topics including Theoretical and Experimental Condensed Matter Physics, Mathematical Methods of Physics, and Astrophysics, showcasing the expertise of the staff and enhancing the program’s impact.
In closing remarks, Prof. Chernet Tuge Deressa, Dean of the College of Natural Sciences at Jimma University, expressed gratitude to all speakers, organizers, and participants. He emphasized the valuable knowledge shared and the strengthened professional network formed during the event. Prof. Chernet encouraged continued efforts toward excellence innovation and congratulated everyone on a successful Summer School.
