Empowering Farmers: Distribution of Apple Seedlings in Jimma Zone

Over the past five years, the College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine has distributed 14,235 apple seedlings to 450 farmers across five selected districts in the Jimma Zone highlands: Dedo, Omonada, Mancho, Setema, and Sigmo woredas.
This initiative was made possible through our Community Service and Crop Transformation Projects, with a total budget of nearly 2.62 million birr.
But we are not stopping there! The College is now establishing a large-scale, standard nursery site aimed at producing millions of seedlings for a variety of horticultural crops, including apples, coffee, bananas, avocados, vegetables, and other commercial tree seedlings to benefit our communities…
