The College has a proud history of continuous growth and transformation guided by a commitment to excellence in education, research, and community service. Every member of our academic and administrative community works collaboratively toward realizing the vision and mission of both the College and Jimma University. Our aspiration is to be a leading higher learning institution recognized for producing knowledgeable, skilled, and ethical graduates who serve society in line with our cherished philosophy of Community-Based Education (CBE).
Currently, the College consists of four academic departments Psychology, Educational Planning and Management, Teacher Education and Curriculum Studies, and Special Needs and Inclusive Education. Through these departments, we offer diverse academic programs, including three undergraduate programs, two postgraduate diploma programs, nine master’s programs, and seven doctoral (Ph.D./D.Ed.) programs. These programs are delivered through regular and in-service modalities, complemented by short-term professional development trainings offered through our three centers: the Higher Diploma Program (HDP), the Academic Development and Resource Center (ADRC), and the English Language Improvement Center (ELIC).
To ensure effective learning and research, CEBS provides modern facilities such as four fully equipped computer laboratories with reliable internet access, as well as a branch library that operates 24 hours a day to support our students’ academic endeavors. We take pride in offering an environment where theoretical learning is integrated with practical experience, enabling our students to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to thrive in a rapidly changing global landscape.
Our alumni remain our proud ambassadors and mirrors of our success. Their continued engagement, feedback, and collaboration are deeply valued as we strive to strengthen our programs and enhance our relevance locally, nationally, and internationally. We also maintain close partnerships with secondary schools and various organizations to ensure that our academic and community engagement activities have tangible, lasting impacts.
