Capacity-Building Training Offered for Accreditation Technical Teams

Jimma University has organized a Capacity-Building Training for Accreditation Technical Teams to enhance understanding and preparedness for the accreditation process. Conducted over two days. The program focuses on equipping participants with the technical knowledge and practical skills necessary to effectively meet accreditation standards.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Tadesse Habtamu, Academic Vice President of Jimma University, emphasized that accreditation ensures alignment with institutional goals, national priorities, and global standards.
He highlighted that this alignment fosters continuous improvement and noted that Jimma University is committed to bringing all programs up to international standards and prioritizing accreditation.
Dr. Eba Teresa, Director of the Institutional Quality Assurance Office, outlined the training program’s main objectives: equipping participants to conduct comprehensive program reviews, analyze alignment with institutional missions and accreditation standards, develop stakeholder engagement strategies, design Program Educational Objectives (PEOs) and learning outcomes aligned with accreditation criteria, and promote a data-driven approach for continuous improvement in accreditation readiness.
The training also included sessions for discussion and reflection, allowing participants to engage actively and share insights.
The event brought together a wide range of participants, including college deans, institute directors, vice deans, department and school heads, quality assurance and reform coordinators, e-learning coordinators, and registrar and student affairs coordinators.
