From the Indian musical performance to the Chinese Martial Arts and Cuban Salsa- Jimma University celebrated the coming of 2018

Jimma University organized a New Year celebration at the Alumni Garden located at the College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine on December 29, 2017. The Celebration was attended by the University top management, Senate members, expat staff and their families from various countries including India, China, Cuba, Philippines, South Korea and Nigeria. 

PhD Curriculum Review Workshop Held at JU

College of Education and Behavioral Sciences of Jimma University has conducted a national curriculum review workshop to launch three new programs at PhD level from December 15-16, 2017. The purpose of the curriculum review workshop was to expand programs at PHD level in various fields of education and as part of attaining the University’s effort to become a research university. College of Education and Behavioral aspires to become the leading institute in educational and behavioral research nationally and internationally.

Jimma University and G-kEN organized an International Conference and Workshops

The Global Knowledge Exchange Network (GKEN) of UK and Jimma University (JU) of Ethiopia organized the 7th International Multi-Disciplinary Conference and Workshop of G-KEN under the title of “Accelerating Educational Excellence & Public Health Provision in Africa”.

The Minister of Livestock and Fisheries Development and Delegates from Oromia Regional State visited JUCAVM’s community based collaborative Fishery and Poultry Research center of at Omo Nada.

The collaborative and community based activities undertaken by Jimma University College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine at Omo Nada targeted at Fishery and Poultry research has been visited by the team  lead by the minister Professor Fekadu Beyene 0n 6/4/2010 . 

JU organizes a national policy dialogue meeting

Jimma University in collaboration with Brown University in the USA has been conducting a decade and half long Longitudinal Family Survey of Youth focusing on adolescent and youth sexual and reproductive health, nutrition, mental health, and the transition into adulthood. Several professional from JU and BU were actively involved in research and publication of the findings out of which 38 policy briefs and many more research outcomes are published in international and reputable journals. 

JU inaugurates Clinical Research Center at Agaro

On 30th November, 2017 Jimma University inaugurates a clinical research center at Agaro General Hospital. A good quality facility equipped with arts of the day instruments and materials has been put in place to facilitate the clinical research activities that has been carried and planned to be carried out at the center.
